I have moved on to, what I see as a more rewarding situation at Voyager Expanded Learning.

I will be helping build their next-generation learning tools to help kids learn to read. I am very excited to finally being able to put my skills to use in order to help others.

I will be posting alot about PureMVC and WebORB as those are 2 things we will be using heavily over the next several months on a few projects.

End of my first day...

Well, today is the end of my first day here at Cynergy. I have to say this has been one of the best 'first' days I have had.

Tomorrow I am supposed to be 'initiated' into the DC team, lol. The weather here is awesome as well.

I am now in DC...

Well, I finally made it. I am sitting in DC and just got my new laptop configured for the most part. I am not sure I am going to like Vista, but we shall see.

I start at Cynergy Systems in the morning... should be a blast!

I am...

Leaving for DC this sunday to go to work for Cynergy Systems.

 http://www.flickr.com/photos/9987856@N08/849671590/

Pownce - I have 6 invites

I have 6 invites if anyone wants one, just leave a comment with your email addy.

Last nights presentation...

I had a good time presenting last night. I am adding lots of comments to the code we wrote during the meeting and will be posting it today.

Feel free to hit me up with questions grumpee AT gmail DOT com.

Today

Well, what can I say. Today I am taking my wife to see a surgeon. Looks like she is going to have to have her gall bladder removed here soon.

She is supposed to go on a mission trip to Mexico this weekend, but we are not sure if she will be able to go or not.

Just a thought dump...

This is week has been a busy one. From my wife's vistubular rehab, to going back on my insulin pump, to work, to family, etc.

My wifes rehab went better than I thought it would. She did pass out during one part but smelling salts brought back pretty quick. She now has things to do everyday to train her brain to compensate for when she gets really dizzy.

I went back on my insulin pump as of yesterday and I am already feeling better. I went off of it for several months to let my tissue heal from having been on the pump for 2 years. For those that dont know, I have Type 1 diabetes. That mean my pancreas does not make insulin and I must inject it daily in order to live.

My day job is going well although I feel kinda stuck. I have the skills to do some pretty cool and useful things, but the application I am working on will need lots of time to catch up. I have been building a testing module for the last couple of months and it has been interesting. From building the UI to manage the creation of the test, to the assignment and reporting of completed tests, to the actual UI to take a test. Each part has its difficulties in which I love figuring out the answers to make them work.

I am also *finally* realizing the true power of components(as seen from my last blog entry).

I know I am rambling, but I just needed to do a brain dump about this week.. Oh ya, I have been really studying OOP more so that I *know* that I get *it*, lol.

Today is going to....

Vaccum! ie, suck. In a little over an hor my wife will begin her vistubluar rehab for meneires disease. What is that you ask? Well, basically its like epilepsy except that insteas of getting siezures, you get uncontrollably dizzy.

There are days & nights that the slightest movement sends her into a dizzy spell. These 'spells' as I call them can last a few minutes to a few days.

Today, she starts the rehab for this, as there is no cure, but they will be triggering her vertigo, which is why the rest of today is going to vaccum.

Do you twitter?

 I am now on twitter

 http://twitter.com/grumpee

Trace output tool

I have found myself having to use IE more and more (although its not my first choice) and I found myself missing the FireFox plugin, FlashTracer.

Well, I decided to make my own viewer and since I am a PC guy, I used C# Express and built this little app. I call it Trace Watcher and it does essentially the same thing as the Flash Tracer plugin and is useful.

There are a couple of bugs and things I will be updating soon, but I thought I would share anyway.
